This lens is in very good cosmetic condition overall, with minor paint and finish wear, except for two small sections of the front lens ring, where the word Canon has been ground away. I dont know why maybe its the Canon equivalent over putting tape over the red dot. Either was, no effect on function. There is minor dust in the optics; focusing and diaphragm
