A pair of Roman Iron Tweezers, Roman Imperial Period, ca. 1st - 2nd century CE Writing and Manuscripts The flat base is uninscribedVery similar to modern tweezers, the ancient tool was shaped from a single piece of iron bent at the center to create twin prongs. Medium: Dimensions: Length: 2 7 8 inches (7. 3 cm) Condition: Very minor loss to the prong points, otherwise intact and in very good condition. Provenance: Austin private collection, Naples, (ca. 1770 1830), thereafter private English collection.
