One is marked 'MAY TRURO', so I'm guessing made in Cornwall. This chair also has what looks like peg joints. Both have great patina and shape. They come with a receipt dated what looks like 1987 calling them ' stick back country chairs 18th cent.' The legs are possibly later than the seat and back (but still old), and possibly cut down to make lower, but still appropriate for the
