The cap design for 87 92 era V8 does NOT contain the coil like the pre86 does just so you are on to of this incase your year era is incorrect etc.. The coil is remote to the distributor next to it but not part of it. GM Original high quality part. NOT CHEAP ANYMORE .. try and keep it that way especially with this series of distributor.
