Standard Ranked puts you on the competitive ladder, using only the cards available in the Standard format at the moment, but if you have more cards from previous sets, choose Historic Ranked to have the freedom to use all the cards you want

If you discard a card as a cost to cast a spell or activate an ability, this creature's triggered ability resolves before that spell or ability but after you've chosen targets for it

As cool as etched foils are, hopefully Wizards tries gilded foils in more sets
