A Maxwell period Leonard 38-4
My estimation is that this rod dates to the mid-to-late 1930's
The grip and reel seat are fashioned from one piece of figured walnut and are fully varnished
as it appears to have only been lawn cast
Light flame cane
Ted Godfrey 2 3/4" Fly Reel 1-Piece A Maxwell period Leonard 38-4An excellent Godfrey 2 3 4" trout reel with the classic serpentine handle and black (delrin?) side plates. 5 position drag. This is an early model, however the drag system was subsequently removed and upgraded by Ted Godfrey himself. This reel is absolutely mint and has never had a line on it or been seated on a rod. Comes with a leather pouch. An excellent classic reel from a widely respected maker.
