Albert Wainwright, Robin Hood's Bay, 1936 Eleanor Clayton Lin TianmiaoAlbert Wainwright was born in Castleford, in the district of Wakefield, in 1898 and was a classmate of Henry Moore. Photographs and letters in The Hepworth Wakefields archive show that they were close friends as soldiers during the First World War, writing beautifully illustrated letters to one another. Despite only living to the relatively young age of 45, Wainwrights overwhelming and single minded desire to capture his daily encounters with people
