Crystals Owl touched by the soft hues

touched by the soft hues of early dawn

With an intensity that belied its calm demeanour

A lazy sun dropped behind approaching winter storm clouds

As the eclipse reached totality

the tranquil water reflected the tapestry of the sky's subtle transition

Crystals Owl touched by the soft huesOn a cold February afternoon, a Short eared Owl perches atop a snow covered fence post. Its golden eyes scan the wintry landscape, sharp and discerning. Suddenly, with a graceful leap, it launches into the crisp air. Snow crystals scatter like tiny diamonds in the strong light, dancing on the breeze as the owl takes flight, its wings a silent whisper against the vast fieldscape.
