[Four women being ticketed for indecent exposure], Los Angeles 1980s not only by his nakednessIn the 1940s, societal norms dictated that it was "indecent" to wear swimsuits outside of the beach, and people were expected to wear robes when traveling to and from the beach. Santa Monica Beach was no exception to this rule, and the strict dress code was enforced by law. However, Bob Mizer challenged this outdated law by shooting publicity photos of models in swimsuits at Santa Monica Beach, in protest of the dress code. These provocative photos
