Antique Japonaiserie French Lacquer Box for Straight Pins 19th c Sewing made in france It is made in aThis is an antique French lacquered box featuring decoration on its lid in the Japonaiserie style. The scene is of a rickshaw with driver and passenger, a geisha as viewed from the back, a running cat and a bird, I think a crane, flying overhead. Depos (registered) is written at the lower right with the makers initials next to it. The front of the box reads Epingles dAcier (steel pins, which I take to be straight pins). The box measures 3 1 2 by 2 1 2
