Tiny in the center, each segment larger than the next, the final chamber was large enough to fit an animal the size of an inch. Growing exponentially over the course of its life building it's shell piece by piece. The Nautilus added a new layer each time it got too big to fit in its shell. This vacant shell where the Nautilus once lived had washed up onto the beach and its cycle of life was now complete.
