Overall strong enough to reuse today
For your consideration one McKee & Mason 439 Confederate bullet
The cavity is out of center to the base (eccentric)
To me this looks like a case of a soilder loading his rifle twice & firing once…
You will find this bullet to be in very good dug condition full of cold pour marks
Ballard Cartridge Listed In The Thomas Handbook As 61 Misc Relics Overall strong enough to reuseFor your consideration on Ballard cartridge listed in the Thomas handbook as 61. The brass hull is flawless. On the base a clear firing pin mark is seen. The bullet is in very good dug condition with a shallow boo boo, see middle photo, all this is well covered with a white patina. A nice one. Verbal provenance is dug from the Cold Harbor, Virginia area.
