This card is based on Rhystic Study , an iconic Commander staple that lets you draw a card any time an opponent casts a spell, unless they pay one mana.

Sure, it saw a bit of play in Modern and Pioneer in recent years, but nothing super consistent, and nowadays, it might be a little outclassed

The Cloud, Midgar Mercenary card also doesnt really fit the narrative here, but it does have deliberate synergy with the Buster Sword, allowing you to search your deck for an equipment card, and his abilities also double-trigger (kind of like the Double Cut materia!)

When the Ruby Moana quests at a location, you can ready all other players at the location (which recalls the Amber Moanas ability from The First Chapter )

That doesn't make any sense

You need to survive to win, and this helps you do so by preventing damage from flyers by using some of that extra mana you have lying around
