Neither deck was suitable to play in a world where not only there would be non-Eldrazi decks but people could rationally choose to play decks like U/R Eldrazi
Witherbloom Pestilence is a grinding, aristocrats style deck with life gain and +1/+1 counter subthemes
A card that is not central to the deck, but key in investors' eyes is Fierce Guardianship which represents a huge portion of the value in the deck
Though this does mean discarding the other cards you reveal, there are numerous ways this can pay off, especially as youre going to play a card thatd normally cost up to 6 Ink for absolutely nothing (well, except the cost of losing the other three cards you draw, of course!)
Slap on menace and you got yourself one hell of a Magic card
Many, many characters in this deck are pirates - 24 different characters show up in this deck, of which 17 are pirates - and through various benefits and mechanics, the deck is telling you that it wants you to swing away with them and whittle down your opponents to get an upper hand on the board state
