This was a fairly robust game from a robust gaming era that was very heavy on the theme and backstory and for fans out there, it wasnt just a card game but much like other early CCGs like Magic The Gathering, Legend of the Five Rings was a lifestyle game
All of the discard spells have a subtle drawback
Breena, the Demagogue is one such card that often needs ironing out: Whenever a player attacks one of your opponents, if that opponent has more life than another of your opponents, that attacking player draws a card and you put two +1/+1 counters on a creature you control. Like the goad mechanic, this card encourages the other players at the table to attack between themselves and discourages them from attacking you
