Sauron, the Dark Lord is grossly powerful, but I figure having it in the 99 makes it much fairer, and it serves as a lightning rod for removal before my commander hits the battlefield

Sure, you have to build your deck somewhat around being able to usefully play Upheaval but given that it is such a good counter to so many of the things going on in the cube, one of the very best safety buttons in the game, that it remains one of the most feared cards in cube
Whenever we encounter a card that singlehandedly spawns a new archetype that completely flips the basic rules of the game on its head and wins well, thats a good time to sit up and take notice
