mtg black commander cards MTG: Top Five EDH - Commanders featuring a powerful legendary commander card designed to control the battlefield with fiery spells and relentless creatures The Best Mono-Black Commanders In

#9: Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation Ojer Taqs only flaw is that its prohibitive cost makes it something of a win-more card

Having just one in play can propel you ahead of your opponents and provide enough resources to close out grindy matches

The Necron Dynasties deck is a mono-black deck that focuses on using the Unearth ability to get powerful creatures from your graveyard for one last attack and activate powerful special abilities

When it enters you put three +1/+1 counters on creatures that also entered the battlefield this turn

Meanwhile, for a Shift 5 character, Pluto Determined Defender is a little underwhelming, with a healing ability that isnt really all that attractive

It is not quite as extreme as that, forcing a removal with a three mana card in the early game is fine, especially when they then don't have it
