The artifact removal is less commonly called upon but frequently life saving
That effect was why we made the tokens legendary in the first place, so we made them nonlegendary for simplicity

And others use the oil counters like the fading mechanic so the card comes with counters but you need to take one off every turn, like Evolved Spinoderm
The flexibility to not only copy your own spells but opposing spells as well means you should always find a good target, whether it be removal, card draw, or anything else
If you choose to pay the impending cost of a creature spell, it's still a creature spell on the stack
