If your deck has black in its color identity, Secret Salvage can be a great way to fill your hand with additional copies of your key piece

First, the mechanic is flavorfully tied very heavily to Amonkhet, which has gone through some changes since we last visited

Not only does Eeevee stand out with new artwork, but all of the different Pokmon it evolves into Leafeon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Espeon, Sylveon and Umbreon have been highlighted as well

It is also used effectively in control style decks to bring up a support Pokmon and try to stall it in the active spot for a few turns, effectively negating the opponents game plan

Howling Insect, among other things, finds Swarm of Scarabs or Swarm of Locusts for some free removal, as they can be activated on your next turn thanks to their self-flipping effect

If your commander is countered or destroyed it will leave you with a deck of cards that are just not as good as your opponents are playing
