Among those cards are plenty of original Gen 1 Pokemon like Blastoise

You cannot decide to change how many creatures youre tapping to pay the convoke cost while youre casting the card

+1: Rowan, Scholar of Sparks deals 1 damage to each opponent

While Spike, Tournament Grinder is incredibly flavorful, I do not think the card really fits in Commander, which, let us be real, makes perfect sense, right

Riders of Rohan brings two 2/2 Human tokens along for the ride every time it enters the battlefield, and because it has Dash, you can choose for that to be the case every single turn

Even within this limited pool of cards, there are a host of charming, flavorful nods to the Marvel Universe, like Doc Ock's 8/8 Power and Toughness and Pumpkin Bombs' use of Fuse counters (FYI: this is a counter we haven't seen in Magic since 2001, which is pretty cool in and of itself)
