Notable exceptions are lands (they are played, not cast) and abilities (you'll need something else, like Stifle, to counter those)

This can be done with plenty of +1/+1 counters thanks to enchantments like Primal Vigor and Primal Empathy, or board-wide buffs from cards like Beastmaster Ascension

It doesn't copy whether that enchantment is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on

But situations like that arent going to happen often enough for this to be better than mediocre
