Outlaws of Thunder Junction (Apr 2024) is Magics 100th Standard set, marked with heist themes, a Breaking News bonus sheet, and expanded Limited play

Tims Zuran Spellcaster (Ice Age/Alliances) , Suq'Ata Firewalker (Mirage/Visions/Weatherlight) , Rootwater Hunter (Tempest/Stronghold/Exodus) , Thornwind Faeries (Saga/Legacy/Destiny) , Stinging Barrier (Masques/Nemesis/Prophecy) Psionic Gift and Hermetic Study are fine, but they require a two card investment: the creature you are enchanting, and the enchantment itself

Meanwhile Coral Colony (and the slightly inferior Doorkeeper) are much easier to work into various decklists as a nice blocker and mana-sink mill source

Rootborn Defenses When you want to protect your army and clone a token while youre at it, Rootborn Defenses does the job

Combine this with a couple of scrying cards and you get great control over your draws

No other mass removal spell handles indestructible creatures while providing scalable, precise control over which threats survive, making Toxic Deluge blacks premium board control tool
