Any instructions to do so are ignored

This may be true, but your commander still informs the table as to your decks aspirations

Archmage Emeritus ($8) Theres no other alternate art version, and while it doesnt have main character art, its got big demand for the card

Decks with persist creatures like Woodfall Primus and Puppeteer Clique also will, as the +1/+1 counter we add will cancel out the -1/-1 counter already on it, making it ready to use again

Since it wants to go wide anyway to draw cards and make it unblockable, then the permanent boosting of your size is pretty great for your going wide team

On top of that, every roll makes Wyll stronger with a +1/+1 counter
