As an alternative for that, use Marie Favored Kitten or other strength buffing cards, then play Stabbington Brother Without a Patch to Rush in and take out must-remove characters
Be sure to protect Aurora using various Bodyguard and Challenger cards, such as Hercules, True Hero and Prince Eric
Moving a character doesn't grant them any special protection (in other words, you don't have to destroy the Location before attacking a character at that Location, or anything like that), but some cards have special abilities keyed to them moving to locations
He also has a further ability, which can be used on your turn: whenever Scrooge McDuck banishes another character, you can play an Item card for no Ink cost
To make things even better, it included some crazy powerful cards for the time like Dragons Fire and Alladdin, Heroic Outlaw a card that was used in every Ruby deck back then (and is still strong in my opinion)
Long-term, Amber and Sapphire is fun but not all that viable
