The ability to draw cards every time it attacks is powerful, even if you have to discard a card right away
The Black Mage essentially gets a tweaked version of a core Vivi ability: he deals one damage to each opponent whenever you cast a noncreature spell, or three damage with a full party
A lot of what you want to hit right now with this is Fear of Missing out and Agathas Soul Cauldron, so you will get the effect and get it early when you want the Lander token
