[spoiler=Level 1s] Bloom immediately jumps out at me, considering how much Lonefire is run in Synchro/Fusion spamming decks these days (either for Spore or Predaplant engine respectively) and now that it's searchable...and, to be honest, the second effect does help if you make a misplacement, and potentially opens up the room for Link plays in both of those Decks
Here are the most effective ways to play around discard strategies: Draw a bunch of cards consistently, which is unfortunately something that some colors struggle to do (blue card draw and green card draw tend to be the best)
You can easily get 3 monsters on the field ranging anywhere from Level 7 to Level 10, opening the door to gigantic Xyz Monsters like Number 9: Dyson Sphere (available in Abyss Rising ) and Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer (from Return of the Duelist )
Iron Spider, Stark Upgrade The Marvels Spider-Man set gave us a ton of great artifacts, including artifact card draw
