The damage dealt must be combat damage that is, damage dealt by an attacking creature in the combat phase
Gyruda also fails to work in the main list of a 60-card deck, as its mana value of 6 makes it an unwieldy creature to fit into anything that's facing faster decks, such as Eldraine Gruul and Dimir Rogues during Ikoria's time in Standard
With 11-12 one-mana creatures and another eight two- and three-drops we dont care about much, this deck will never lack mutate targets and the surprise damage from making a big mutant to immediately attack can punish opposing Planeswalkers or just speed up the clock against the decks which can out-value us
But if you just can't wait to run them in your legendary tribal deck, you're going to have to pay a premium
