While I have Lurrus as being one of the strongest, at least from a more comprehensive look at Magic, if I only looked at Commander, I would have picked Lutri, the Spellchaser, as it provided on-demand storm effect
Rares are where you start seeing more powerful build-arounds, board wipes, pushed creatures, unusual enchantments, premium lands, and cards with effects that would be miserable if they appeared too often in Limited
We're not in the habit of damaging cards that could be worth tens or hundreds of dollars, and we doubt you are either
Creature-based counters like this have been beloved at the kitchen table ever since Mystic Snake was printed way back in Apocalypse
This means you can stop any damage befalling Alesha or any other creature you swing in with, and its an excellent little card
But there are too many downsides for us to really rate this starter deck
