I chose to make a Lhurgoyf variant that looked at how many card types you had in your graveyard instead of creatures
First, it retains the extort, which is huge for a strategy to continue gaining life and draining opponents out
The mana in the new set is not great, so new Standard decks will have to play many basic lands
Mew VMAX SA (128,000 / ~$908) commands a premium for three reasons: (1) the AKIRA EGAWA illustration is widely considered one of the most visually striking SA cards of the Sword & Shield era, (2) Mew VMAX was the centerpiece of the dominant Fusion Strike competitive archetype, cementing its place in TCG history, and (3) the pull rate (~1/16 boxes) keeps individual card supply scarce even years after release
For now, all we can do is wait and see how this unfolds, and while I don't want to discourage Pokmon TCG from offering something like this again in the future, perhaps there can be a better way to go about releasing and distributing it
This is also true for the upcoming Chocobo Racing events that Wizards of the Coast announced for the Final Fantasy set as Wizards Play Network (WPN) member game stores are being required to use Final Fantasy play boosters as prize support for it
