Open if: You enjoy the pack-opening experience Wilds Unknown delivers with ~7 legendaries per box, so there are genuine hits in almost every pack sequence You are building a full binder or playset of the set, including commons, uncommons, and rares You want to experience the Pixar debut and themed deck components (toy cards, dwarfs, traveler enchanteds) as you build collections You are willing to trade duplicate legendaries, which you will pull in quantity Woody, The Queen of Hearts, and Louisa Madrigal appeared multiple times across our sample Buy singles if: You specifically want either Iconic at roughly 1 per case (optimistic), opening boxes to target Buzz Lightyear ($2,882) or Merida ($821) makes no financial sense when singles are directly available You want a specific enchanted card there are 18 enchanted cards in the set, so even at 1 enchanted per 2 boxes, the chance of hitting your target specific one is low You want competitive staples like Special Red Card or Three Arrows at their market prices You are working with a specific budget buying the singles you want will almost always be cheaper than trying to pull them The numbers on chasing Buzz Lightyear Iconic Estimated Iconic rate: ~1 per case (4 boxes) based on community estimates but this is not confirmed data Number of Iconics in set: 2 (Buzz and Merida) Odds of hitting specifically Buzz Iconic: ~1 in 8 cases minimum (and possibly rarer) At typical booster box prices, chasing the Buzz Iconic through opening costs significantly more than its $2,882 single price Even Merida at $821 is similarly uneconomical to chase buy the single The honest bottom line: Wilds Unknown is one of the best sets to open in recent Lorcana history, purely from an experience standpoint
